After warm conditions and a dry growing season with helpful spring rain, the 2019 Pinot vintage is one of our most exciting yet. The weather led to an early vintage but excellent fruit.
Spices and savoury earthy notes show now, five years since vintage. Being a warmer year with plush fruit, we picked when we did to save on acid and tannin and as the wine rolls into middle age, tertiary characters in balance and harmony come through on the palate. There's a pleasing length to round-off the mouthfeel.
These bottles won't disappoint, they're perfect for drinking with a favourite Asian dish.
Organically grown, hand picked, cold soaked, destemmed as to 85% and 15% whole bunch. Open air fermented. Estate-grown grapes only.
Tasting notes Dark cherry notes, five spice, hoison, gamey, savoury.
Cuisine Duck, wild game, Asian foods.
